Austin Whitaker was initiated into Murfreesboro Chapter in July 2000. Currently, he is a dual member of Murfreesboro Chapter and C.E. Hendricks Chapter in Hendersonville, TN. Austin is the recipient of the Blue Honor Key, Chevalier, Representative DeMolay, Lamp of Knowledge, and the Past Master Councilor – Meritorious Service Award.
Austin is a Sophomore at the University of Tennessee Knoxville where he is a Chancellor's Honor Student. He is currently a Psychology Major with a Pre-Med Concentration. His career goals include continuing on into Medical School and practicing as a Pediatrician. Austin currently is a Volunteer with the Red Cross through the ClinicVols Program at UT. He volunteers weekly at an Inner-city Elementary school in the School Clinic.
Austin has served Tennessee DeMolay as a State Officer for the past several years, being elected as State Junior Councilor in 2003 and advancing through the State line. He has also served two terms as the Region 3 Coordinator for DeMolay International. This past year, Austin was appointed by Grand Master Keith Klein to serve as the Deputy Grand Third Preceptor for DeMolay International. Also, Austin has served as the Chairman of the Advisor Recruitment Committee for the DeMolay International Congress.
During his term as State Master Councilor, Austin has coordinated the Fundraiser “Coins for Kids” which has raised over $4,000 for the Shrine Centers in Tennessee to provide DVD players in Transportation Vehicles. Austin has also created programs to encourage Prospect parties and a Ritual Database. Austin also Coordinated a Trip to Kansas City, MO for Many DeMolays in March.
Austin is a Master Mason at Hendersonville Lodge #359. He is also a member of Al Menah Shriners and Hendersonville Eastern Star. He has also petitioned the Order of Amaranth. Over the course of the year, one of Austin's greatest goals has been to unite the Masonic Family and encourage support of DeMolay by other Bodies. |
